Being a responsible pet owner
A new pet can provide you and your family members with more unconditional love than you can imagine. But please remember that acquiring a pet is a lifetime commitment and should not be taken lightly.
Pet Safety: Pets which run loose can be injured or killed by a wide variety of dangers including cars, other animals, dangerous materials and chemicals. Pets left outdoor should be provided with fresh water, shade, adequate shelter to protect them from rain and heat in the summer, and with adequate shelter to protect them from cold, moisture and wind in the winter. Pets that are left chained or tied out can become tangled, or worse. It is against the law in Michigan to tether, chain or tie a pet out with a choke-type collar.
Pet Courtesy: Many people are disturbed by other people's pets roaming in their yards. Try to keep you pets at home. Some people are threatened by animals. When you have your pet in public, keep it leashed.
